Seal's Promise by Sharon Hamilton

This is one of the entries in the Hot Alpha SEALS Anthology and I was gifted with a free copy of it in exchange for an honest review of the story.   This is a short read and like all of Sharon's SEAL books, it highlights the closeness of the men in the SEAL team and their devotion to each other and their families.  This story started off with the loss of one of the brothers and goes on from there to show how his closest friend keeps the promise to watch over  the wife and unborn child of his fallen brother.  I found it to be a very moving story but told with a simpleness and humor that made it both emotional and fun to read.  I think it brought home to me just how tenuous life can be and that those who choose to love and be a part of a SEAL's life also become a part of something larger.  It moved quickly and seemed to happen if a short time span, but the way it was told and how the characters were explained, it was believable.  Life is short and each day is precious and Ms. Hamilton is one of the best in bringing those life stories home in a realistic, in your face manner. I thought this was a well written, touching story well worth the time spent reading it.  I look forward to her next installment to her SEAL team books.  Pick this one up today and enjoy!!

Wetwork by Marie Harte

I was gifted a copy of this book in exchange for and honest review of the story.  As a rule, I love just about anything Marie Harte writes, and this is no exception.  This is the third installment in her "The Works" series.  I read and enjoyed the first two books of this series, but this one is exceptional.  The characters are real, vibrant, and believable with a story line that is well thought out and written in a manner that captures the reader's interest from page one and never falters.  The complexity of the interweaving plots makes for and exciting read that keeps you on  your toes trying to figure out who is responsible for what and just who the bad guy could be.  The main characters, Trevor and Emma, are fun to watch getting to know each other and you really want to see them find their HEA.  Ms. Harte is and excellent writer of hot, sexy scenes and there is enough sex in this story to keep you interested, but the whole story does not revolve around the sexual aspect.  This is a really good story with overlapping plots and enough intrigue to keep you turning the pages until you reach the end.   I think you'll enjoy this read and if you haven't already ordered it, do so and settle in for a fun night getting to know some fun, interesting people shared with us by a wonderful author who, I hope, has many many more stories to put to paper.

Loving the Omega by Carrie Ann Ryan

I was gifted this copy in exchange for an honest review.  Before I begin, I must acknowledge that I love this entire series and am very sorry to see it end.  Although Fighting Fate officially ended the series, Loving the Omega gives us an insight to how two of the major players are doing since the fighting ended.  Maddox and Ellie have always been one of my favorite couples and it was good to see how they were facing the future.  As always, the story was a good one, moved quickly and kept my interest from beginning to end.  There was a sadness there  that touched my heart and made me feel the loss and emptiness that Maddox was suffering.  However, the story progressed well and left me with a feeling of hope and growth for the future.  If you are a fan of this series, don't wait or hesitate to pick up this book.  Well worth the time and price.   Carrie Ann Ryan has a good handle on these characters and makes them so real to the reader.  You feel part of this family and want them to be well and heal from all the past has visited upon them.  Loving the Omega gives you the feeling that all will be well--in time and until then they will do what they have always done--keep on keeping on!  Love this author and this family.  Get your copy today.
