Payne by Kim Linwood

I was given an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.  This is the first thing I've read by Ms. Linwood and I will be reading others.  This was an excellent story from the first page to the last.  Payne is an ex Navy SEAL, now in the business of contract killing.  Nora is a rookie police officer on her first real assignment.  Unfortunately (or fortunately). their jobs overlap.  Their journey to each other, Payne's journey to find his real self and Nora's journey to find her life's work makes for an excellent read.  It is well worth the money and the time invested in reading it.  It's full of plot twists and excitement as well as the hot sex between two people who know they should know better, but just don't care to walk away from each other.

Taming the Biker by Cassie Alaxandra

This is the last installment in this series so far.  This is the story of Taylor (AKA Tail) Adams and Lauren Macey.  They were classmates in high school and meet years later at the wedding of her sister and Taylor's best friend from school. It is the story of  how they renew on old friendship and how it becomes much more.  I have enjoyed all five of these books and can't wait for the next installment this summer.  They show the life of a MC and how the brotherhood is dedicated to each other and their families.  It has violence, bad language and a great amount of sex, so if this isn't for you or if it offends you, you should pass on this one and the entire series.  If you're ok with it, pick up your copy today.  It's a good story and a fairly quick read.  You don't need to have read the prior books to understand this one.  It pretty much stand on it's own. However, if you enjoy it, I suggest you start with the first one and get to know this group of men and their women.  I think you'd really like them.

Delta Revenge by Cristin Harber

This is the latest in Cristin Harber's Delta series.  It is the story of Javier and Sophia, and like all her books, it's exciting, action packed and HOT!!  I love this author.  Her stories catch your interest from page one to the very end.  Javier tries to leave Sophia alone because he feels she deserves so much better than him.  However, Sophia know there is no one better than this warrior who has not only been there for her when her heart was broken by another, but also has risked his life more than once to rescue her from dangerous and deadly situations.  If you've read Ms. Harber before, you know how she weaves danger and love into a breathtaking story that keeps you on the edge of your seat until the very end.  This book is no exception.  Get yours today and settle in for an excellent read!

Shelter for Elizabeth by Susan Stoker

This new release from Susan Stoker is, like her previous books in this series, a wonderful, well  written story.  Cade and Beth are well developed characters that instantly captivate the readers interest.  Avid readers of Ms. Stoker will know Beth from her SEAL of  Protection series, "Protecting Summer".  I was glad to see this book, since I have wondered what happened to Elizabeth after her kidnapping and torture in that book.  All we knew then was she was rescued and turned over for medical treatment.  It is good to get the story of how she has survived and is coping with the issues left her due to that incident.  I love how Ms. Stoker pairs her heroines with compassionate and understanding men who help them reach their potential.  Cade and Beth have their demons work through, and watching them do that is emotional and heartwarming.   This is an excellent read and one I enthusiastically recommend.  You have the extra bonus of seeing Penelope from "Protecting the Future" (she's Cade's sister), Sam and Summer from "Protecting Summer" and the infamous Tex who is everyone's hero!  On a scale of one to ten, this one is definitely a 10+!  Before leaving I need to note that I was given an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review, which I am glad to give.

Prowled Darkness by Carrie Ann Ryan

This is the last book in the Dante's Circle series and Ms. Ryan did an excellent job of ending this story line.  Eliana Sawyers is the last of the lightening struck women to meet her true mate.  The results of an earlier affair with Malik Ward, is a pregnancy she is trying to get through alone along with a broken heart from when Malik just disappeared from her life.  As it turns out, Malik is the prince of the lion shifter community and, not knowing of the pregnancy, left Eliana before getting "too" involved since he could never marry a human.  Neither knew of the others secrets and when Malik finds out Eliana is more than human, he makes a hasty trip back to her.  This is pretty much where the book starts.  They have to work with their own trust issues as well as those in Malik's pride trying to  sabotage their every move.  Another issue is dealing with what Eliana has become since the mating was finalized.  Ms. Ryans imagination is a wonder to me.  She never fails to surprise and entertain.  This is a quick read, but a very full one. This copy was given to me in exchange for an honest review, but I will be purchasing it also.  Get yours today, I know you'll love it.

Kissing the Killer by B B Hamel

This book, like all of  this authors reads, is a gritty, on the edge ride from the very first page to the very last word.  I've read several things by BB Hamel and, I must admit it took me a while to get use to the style.  These are not sweet, middle America, happy go lucky families smiling their way through what we consider day to day problems.  This story centers around Brooks, a hit man for the Italian mob and Emma, the daughter of a man he was hired to kill.  Rules were he should kill her too so as to leave no witnesses.  Seems Brooks is a killer with a conscience where women and children are concerned.  One look at Emma and he knew he couldn't kill her, so he took her.  This is the story of how they came to be in love and how they worked through the problem of keeping her alive.  It was raw, gritty and filled with explicit sexual encounters and language.  If this is offensive to you, better pass this one over.  If it isn't, this was an exciting, fast paced read and I think you'd really enjoy it.  Pick up your copy today and settle in.  The basic story line is good, but the twist and turns will  keep you on the edge of your seat until the end.  I was given this copy in exchange for an honest  review, but I feel it is well worth the purchase price.
